Oluremi Akinlawon Obasanjo, who was Olusegun Obasanjo’s former spouse, was the daughter of Mrs. Alice Akinlawon (née Ogunlaja) and a station master.When she was 14 years old, she met Olusegun Obasanjo in the Owu Baptist Church Choir. They courted for eight years.
Without their families’ knowledge, they were married on June 22, 1963, at Camberwell Green Registry in SE London, when she was21 years old.In London, she completed training in institutional management.
