Palava- Nigeria’s First Movie Shoot.

The first motion picture to be filmed in Nigeria in 1926 is called Palava. The Geoffrey Barkas-written and -directed British movie, which was first shown on April 25, 1927, was filmed among the Sura, Angas, Mangu, and Berom people of Plateau and Bauchi in northern Nigeria. In the movie, Mark Fernandez plays an envious British tin miner in Nigeria who uses alcohol to incite the locals against Captain Allison, a British District Officer, who is his rival. With these a woman who is a nurse includes the theme of love when she gets emotionally attached to both rivals.
