Where Father Borghero (Francesco Borghero) once served as the church’s parish pastor in 1881. From 1861 to 1865, he led the church and had taken up his cross. The Holy Cross Church was constructed and consecrated.
The first nuns arrived in Lagos five years after the Fathers arrived. Although they were probably aware of the difficulties and perils they would face in their future life by the coast, they still had to pray fervently in gratitude when they finally set foot on Lagosian soil and realized that their arduous and miserable journey was finally coming to an end.
