Lions Maul Prophet who dared to recreate the biblical Miracle of Daniel in the Lion’s Den.

Ibadan, the state capital of Oyo, is Nigeria’s third-largest city after Lagos and Kano. The city is well-known for its extensive and fascinating history, culture, and incredible tourist attractions. The University of Ibadan Zoological Garden, which opened its doors in 1948, is one of the city of Ibadan’s most popular tourist attractions. It is home to a diverse range of creatures, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians.

Visitors flooded the University of Ibadan zoo on a fateful day in 1991, as they always do to see the animals and take in the tranquil setting it offers. Lions in the zoo draw the most visitors of any of the animals. It is said that a trip to the UI zoo wouldn’t be complete without seeing the lions.

Everyone was at the zoo that day to enjoy seeing the animals, as mentioned, with the exception of a man named Daniel Abodunrin, a fearless and daring prophet who had a different mission. The prophet entered the lions’ enclosure unabated to pet them, just as Daniel did in the Bible, in order to demonstrate to the public the “work of God of Daniel.”.
The goal of the prophet Daniel Abodunrin was to retell the biblical tale of Daniel, who was cast to lions by God who had mysteriously tamed them because of envy. According to the biblical narrative, God dispatched angels to seal the lions’ mouths.

A determined Prophet Daniel Abodunrin approached some zoo employees and asked to be allowed access to the lions’ enclosure. Such a request would never be granted by anyone with common sense, so the prophet’s request was denied. However, after much agitation and persuasion, the prophet’s insane wish was granted. According to a different account, he entered the lions’ cage secretly and without permission from the staff. Whatever method he used to enter the cage, the prophet managed to get inside.

Those present at the scene were in shock. When they realized it wasn’t a dream, they mentally prepared for the worst. A large Bible was tucked under the armpit of the prophet Daniel Abodunrin, who was dressed in a red robe. He began to speak in tongues and recite Bible verses as he entered the lions’ enclosure.

He requested miracles from the “God of Daniel,”  He was yelling “Jah, Jah, Jah,” which is a shortened version of Jehovah. The lions initially withdrew to a corner of their cage. Unbeknownst to the prophet, lions typically retreat when they notice something unusual in their territory, but eventually they get rid of it.

Prophet Daniel Abodunrin believed that his faith was actually having an impact and that God of Daniel was working miracles. Then, while continuing to recite bible verses, he approached the lions closer. Then, in an instant, the horrified, perplexed, and bewildered prophet was attacked by lions. The terrified onlookers experienced a chilling wave of shock.

Prophet Daniel Abodunrin fought valiantly for his life, but the powerful lions were no match for him, and in an instant, he was torn apart and devoured. His bloody red robe was torn to pieces, and the dust had settled on his bible, which he had thrown away at the start of the attack.

After witnessing such an appalling scene that they will never forget for the rest of their lives, people took to their heels. The prophet’s remains were gathered and then interred. Prophet Daniel Abodunrin met a bitter and terrible end in this manner.

Others asserted that the lions were controlled by demons more powerful than the prophet and called for their execution. Both groups of people condemned the prophet for his foolish action. What do you believe?
