The late Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe was an Igbo musician from Atani Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria. His career spans more than 40 years and he is one of the most famous Igbo highlife musicians.
Osadebe began his career as a singer in nightclubs in Lagos, southwest Nigeria. He was a member of the Empire Rhythm Orchestra under the direction of E.C.Arinze, where he acquired many of his musical skills.
Osita Osadebe died in St. Peter’s Hospital. Mary’s Waterbury, Connecticut on May 11, 2007 due to severe breathing difficulties.
