Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and his Classmates at the Prestigious Corona School, Ikoyi

Corona School Ikoyi is one of the seven Corona Schools that were founded between 1955 and 2008. It was founded in February of 1960. The school was founded with block of classrooms that could house the initial group of students from various countries. It is situated at No. Mekunwen Road, Ikoyi.

Mrs. Jean Abili, the first Headmistress, served from 1960 to 1998.

Professor Osinbajo was born in Lagos in 1957 and holds degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of Lagos. He soon began lecturing at the University of Lagos and continued to practice law on a private basis until 1999.

Osinbajo was named Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu’s cabinet that same year. Osinbajo left government in 2007 after serving during both of Tinubu’s four-year administrations.  He then resumed his private practice, gave lectures, and followed his calling to become a pastor at the Redeemed Christian Church of God. He became the vice president in 2015 under the Buhari administration.
