A family group photo, but apparently the wife didn’t want to wear the dress, so the dress was taken by the husband or a British photographer instead of the wife. Her husband gave her a wedding dress. There is certainly a lot more to this story than we think, but it is certainly a glimpse into the attitudes that may have existed.
1 Maybe she hated that dress, 2 Maybe she hated or distrusted the photo, 3. Maybe she didn’t want her husband to tell her what to wear.4 Maybe she felt it was about the dress and not about her. 5. Perhaps this story was invented by an English photographer who was looking for sensational stories to tell in England. Who knows? 6 Maybe she doesn’t like white people because of their bad behavior towards her ancestors, who knows? 😂
