Ikoyi, Lagos State, Nigeria, is where Jahdiel was born. She completed her elementary and secondary school at Aunty Ayo International School in Ikoyi. She later went on to further her studies and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, demonstrating her commitment to learning.
Jahdiel’s passion for music started at a young age. When she was just five years old, she joined the choir at her church and realized she had a gift for singing. Her distinctive style would eventually be influenced by her ability to play musical instruments including the piano and keyboard, which she had mastered by the age of 13.
Jahdiel began her solo career after participating in a number of singing groups. Her first album, *Heritage*, was widely praised when it was released in 2008.
In addition to gaining her fame in Nigeria, the album’s success led to her being nominated for the coveted Kora Awards’ “Most Promising Artist or Group” category in 2008. This significant event signaled the start of a prosperous gospel music career.
Jahdiel’s ability to combine poignant lyrics with enthralling melodies is demonstrated by the fact that “Heritage” is still a beloved song. She is a role model for budding musicians because of her remarkable path from a child choir member to an award-nominated artist—a story of skill, faith, and perseverance.
