The Metropolitan Club of Victoria Island, Lagos is about 63 years old. You could say it is young compared to other clubs in Nigeria. It is one of the largest social clubs in Lagos and has strict membership rules.
has earned an established and enviable reputation as a gentlemen’s club, offering members one of the finest private dining options for any social occasion. The “Met Club” is located on Kofo Abayomi Street on Victoria Island, although there is no sign indicating where the Met Club is located.
However, there is the letter “M” on the club gate, which looks more like an envelope. To become a member of the Met Club, you must be exceptional in your career, profession and business, be respected and admired, and have extensive resources.
The successful reconstruction and construction of the club’s magnificent, large and massive buildings was made possible thanks to the contributions and support of its members. The club started well and its first members were among the successful, respected and celebrated people in Lagos social circles.
Some of them were the first President of Nigeria, the late Sir Adetokunbo Ademola, the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), and the late Hon.Judge A. Fatayi-Williams, former judge of the Supreme Court, among others.
