From left to right, these three formidable individuals in Nigerian history are Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Mrs. Tanimowo Ogunlesi, and his spouse, Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo. in stunning traditional clothing from Nigeria.Every one of these people had a major influence on how Nigeria’s sociopolitical  environment developed in the early to mid-20th century. The woman on the left, Mrs. Tanimowo Ogunlesi, was a trailblazing feminist and a strong leader of West African women. She played a major role in the establishment of women’s groups that promoted women’s empowerment and rights in the area. Her influence spread beyond Nigeria to movements throughout West Africa, where she promoted women’s economic independence, political engagement, and access to education. Chief Obafemi Awolowo, one of the most important leaders in Nigerian history and a pivotal figure in the country’s war for  independence, stands towering next to her. Awolowo was a statesman, lawyer, and philosopher who made significant contributions  to the creation  of the Western Region, free basic education, and universal health care. These initiatives had a long-lasting effect  on  the socioeconomic advancement of Nigeria. Hannah Idowu Dideolu Awolowo, on the far right, was given  the moniker  “Jewel of  Inestimable Value” by  her husband and is frequently referred to as such. She was more than just a political leader’s wife; she was a powerful person in her own right. HID Awolowo was a philanthropist, prosperous businesswoman, and a vital source of support for her husband during his political  career. She was actively involved in a number of social and humanitarian organizations and managed the  activities of her  husband’s political party, the Action Group. Together, these three people stand for the tenacity, initiative, and commitment that defined Nigeria’s path to independence and citizen empowerment. Foundation the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) by a Carpenter Named Samuel Bilewu

On September 2, 1947, exactly seventy-seven years ago, something important happened in the history of African Christianity. The Celestial Church of Christ was formed by a carpenter named Samuel Bilewu Joseph Oshoffa, who was born in Dahomey, which  is today in Benin (CCC). With time, this church would emerge as one of the most significant and widely distributed African-founded  congregations, especially in Nigeria and the African diaspora. Following his survival of a perilous wilderness expedition, Oshoffa is reported to have gotten a spiritual epiphany that served as the  impetus for the establishment of the CCC. On September 10, 1985, thirty-eight years after founding the church, Oshoffa passed  away tragically in an automobile accident that claimed the lives of all those inside. Although his passing signaled the end of an era for the CCC, the faith’s millions of believers around the globe ensure that his  influence endures. Oshoffa was interred at the Celestial City in Imeko, Nigeria, a town with great spiritual significance for  churchgoers. The Celestial City is the spiritual home of the church and a destination for believers who come to honor their founder and take part in yearly religious celebrations. The Celestial Church of Christ is an essential component of the religious legacy of the continent  because of Oshoffa’s vision and spiritual guidance, which have had a lasting impact on the development of African Christianity.

Amazing Friendship of Ras Kimono and Majek Fashek Before Their Demise

Majekodunmi Fasheke, popularly known as Majek Fashek, and Oseloke Augustine Onwubuya, better known as Ras Kimono. The two important figures in the history of African and Nigerian reggae are pictured together in this unusual photo, signifying an  important turning point in the genre’s development. Majek Fashek, also known as the “Rainmaker,” was acclaimed for his distinctive blend of reggae and traditional African rhythms,  while Ras Kimono was well-known for his socially aware lyrics and strong voice. This picture not only honors their relationship but also demonstrates their enduring influence on the world of music. Majek Fashek died in 2020, two years after Ras Kimono went away in 2018. May God grant them eternal rest. Their contributions to  music in general and reggae in particular will always be honored and appreciated.

Death of Chiboke De John, a.k.a CD John Via an Accident in Victoria Island, Lagos

As a rising figure in the Nigerian comedy scene, Chiboke De John, better known by his stage name CD John, made contributions to  reggae and music. On Thursday, March 24, 2011, a deadly auto accident ended his promising career. CD John, who was well-known  for his distinct approach to fusing comedy and music, attracted a devoted fan base very fast. Before the sad tragedy that took his life, he appeared to have a bright future in the entertainment world. Early in the morning, while CD John was returning from an album listening event for the musician Harrysong, the occurrence took place, held in Victoria Island’s Tribeca, located on Adetokunbo Ademola Street in Lagos. CD John performed as the event’s compere, showing his skills for a grateful audience.  Following the event, he got into a convoy of three cars, one of which was being driven by Kunle Oluwaremi, the winner of Gulder  Ultimate Search Season 7 and the character SARO in the movie Anikulapo, as they made their way to his residence in Jakande  Estate, Isolo, Lagos. Sadly, as its occupants were busy pasting campaign posters, the convoy came upon a stationary black Toyota Corolla, purportedly  one of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola’s campaign vehicles, blocking the route. The convoy’s lead vehicle swerved and struck the Corolla’s rear side, but CD John’s fast-moving black Golf 3 struck the Explorer  Jeep, the second vehicle in the convoy, and broke apart. CD John was the only one in his car’s four occupants to die from his  injuries. The budding comedian was treated for severe head trauma at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos, but he was not able to recover. The Nigerian comedy scene was devastated by his sudden passing and the loss of a gifted comedian whose potential was never  completely reached. CD John’s untimely death serves as a reminder of both the transient nature of life and the importance of road safety.
